As a collaborative initiative under the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) Partnership, the Resilient Energy Platform was recently released to support decision makers in assessing power sector vulnerabilities, identifying resilience solutions, and making informed decisions to enhance power sector resilience at all scales. The Resilient Energy Platform provides expertly curated resources, training materials, data, tools, and direct technical assistance in planning resilient, sustainable, and secure power systems.

Within the Resilient Energy Platform, an interactive Power Sector Resilience Planning Guidebook details a holistic process to engage stakeholders, identify vulnerabilities, and implement critical actions. The Power Sector Resilience Planning process detailed in the guidebook was implemented through a collaboration of the Lao PDR Government, USAID's Clean Power Asia program and NREL to assess Lao PDR’s power sector vulnerabilities to natural, technological, and human-caused threats, and to develop a resilience action plan to address the highest-risk vulnerabilities. The webinar will provide a detailed look at the process undertaken in Lao PDR and present a broader overview of the platform and guidebook.
